Accessibility Statement
Lease Birmingham LLC is working to make this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. If something on this site prevents you from getting what you need, tell us and we will help you directly.
Our Commitment
Rental housing is not optional infrastructure. A person searching for a home, an owner reviewing a statement, or a tenant reporting a maintenance problem should not be blocked by the way a website is built. Lease Birmingham LLC treats accessibility as part of doing the work correctly, not as a separate compliance exercise.
We are committed to providing full and equal access to our services regardless of how a person uses the internet. That commitment applies to this website and to every other way we communicate with owners, tenants, applicants, and the public.
Section 02Standard We Are Working Toward
We are working to bring leasebirmingham.com into conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines are the widely recognized benchmark for making web content accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
We do not claim that this site is currently fully conformant. Stating otherwise would be inaccurate. Conformance is an ongoing process, particularly on a site with forms, interactive calculators, property listings, embedded maps, and third-party services. We are identifying and correcting issues on an ongoing basis, and we would rather tell you where we stand than publish a claim we cannot support.
Section 03What We Are Doing
Our ongoing accessibility work includes:
- Providing text alternatives for meaningful images, so screen readers can describe them.
- Associating visible labels with every form field, including the rental review form and contact form.
- Making error messages clear, specific, and announced to assistive technology rather than shown by color alone.
- Maintaining sufficient contrast between text and background across the site.
- Making all interactive elements reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Using correct heading structure and page landmarks so a screen reader user can navigate by section rather than reading top to bottom.
- Ensuring text can be resized and the layout reflows without loss of content or function.
- Writing link text that describes its destination rather than relying on phrases like "click here."
- Reviewing new pages, forms, and features for accessibility before publishing them.
Known Limitations
We would rather name the gaps than let you discover them. Areas where accessibility may be limited include:
Third-party services
The owner and tenant portals are provided through Rentvine, a third-party property management platform. Embedded maps are provided by Google. Review content is hosted on third-party platforms. We do not control the code of these services and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If a third-party service blocks you, contact us and we will complete the task with you directly by phone, email, or in person.
Interactive estimators
The cash-flow estimators on this site involve multiple linked inputs and results that update as values change. These are among the harder patterns to make fully accessible and remain under active review. If you would like the same figures worked through with you, call our office and we will do it over the phone.
Older content
Articles, images, and documents published before this statement took effect may not yet meet our current standard. We are reviewing older material as we go and will correct issues as they are identified.
Documents
Some documents may be provided in formats that are not fully accessible. We will provide an accessible alternative on request at no cost.
Section 05Accessible Alternatives Are Always Available
You never have to use this website to do business with Lease Birmingham. Every task available online can be completed another way, at no additional cost and with no requirement that you explain why.
- Request a rental review by telephone instead of the online form.
- Receive property information, availability, rent amounts, and listing details read to you over the phone.
- Have an accessible-format copy of any document we publish provided on request.
- Get help submitting an application, reporting a maintenance issue, or reviewing a statement.
- Meet at our Birmingham office during business hours.
- Correspond by mail.
If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to use our services, ask. We will work with you.
Section 06Fair Housing
Lease Birmingham LLC complies with the federal Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act where applicable, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and all applicable Alabama and local fair housing law. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.
Requests for reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications relating to a rental property are handled separately from website accessibility. Contact our office directly to make such a request.
Section 07No Accessibility Overlay
This site does not use an accessibility overlay, toolbar, or automated widget. Those products are widely opposed by disability advocates, frequently interfere with the assistive technology a person has already configured, and do not correct the underlying code. We fix the site itself instead.
Tell Us What Is Not Working
If you encounter a barrier on this website, we want to hear about it. Reports from people actually using the site are the most reliable way we find problems. Please describe the page or task, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know it.
We aim to respond within one business day and will work with you to complete whatever you were trying to do in the meantime.
